For their 5th annual industry event, RAW Design – one of Toronto’s newest and most vibrant architectural studios – commissioned a band of graphic illustrators to produce an immersive pictorial commentary on the creative process behind the city’s shifting landscape. Transforming an empty warehouse space at 109 Ossington Ave., floor-to-ceiling graphics depict comic book superheroes as they leap tall buildings, brainstorm, and wrestle with ideas about density, design and streetscape.
RAW’strip was also presented on a 30-foot-tall video projection, courtesy of Christie Digital Systems Canada Inc.;
Outside, S’mores were roasted over fire pits in an outdoor urban campground;
Monochromatic food in primary colours catered by Sublime Catering was passed around, and beverage were served from skyline cutouts;
For dessert: glow-in-the-dark cotton candy (illuminated with LED lights);
DJ BELLOSOUND played a mix of current beats and classic tunes;
Guests had the opportunity to sniffed a custom ‘creativity’ blend called inspiRAW, crafted by scent designer Tracy Pepe of Nose Knows Design.
